Hunter Legend 306
Hunter Legend 306
This listing contains some provisional information: details may change
Lady Jo is a well presented example of this roomy and capable Hunter Legend 306 - now with only the second owner, condition is good and maintenance routines carefully followed.
Rig is organised for short-handed sailing with sail controls led aft and the large comfortable cockpit makes for safe sailing and enhanced living afloat.
Interior layout is optimised for a spacious saloon, with galley and chart-table conveniently sited and a well-designed heads located aft of chart table - the large double aft and a good size double in the fore-peak both compliment the practical layout.
Sailing performance is rewarding and owners report this Hunter has good sea-going capability.
We are the second owners of Lady Jo - having purchased her in July 2016 and have had a great time cruising from Torbay around the Devon and Cornwall Coast and to the Channel Islands and France.
Her previous owner bought Lady Jo new as a retirement present to himself. She was lightly used and spent most of her time in Torquay Marina. Since taking ownership of her we have addressed most of the long term maintenance issues to give her another 10 years of good service to her new owners.
Lady Jo sails well on all points of sail, she is surprisingly close winded and is very responsive on the helm. She lacks a good downwind sail wardrobe set up for light conditions but this could easily be added by a new owner.
Her Stainless Steel Cockpit Arch and wide Cockpit make for a safe, comfortable and relaxed experience when sailing and at anchor.
Her accommodation is very spacious and as a couple we’ve happily spent up to three weeks living aboard.
Lady Jo handles safely and predictably, her reefing set up works well and we are happy sailing her in winds gusting up to 30 knots under her double reefed main. She will make approximately 6.5 knots on a broad reach down to 4.5 knots on a close reach in 12 to
18 knots of apparent wind.
Her Bilge Keels and shallow draft make her ideal for exploring and mooring on UK tidal estuaries and drying harbours - We’ve used this feature very successfully on visits to Lyme Regis, Polperro and the Fowey estuary.
